Rodents such as rats are generally regarded to be an ugly nuisance that spread disease, thrive in dirty conditions and take up residence where they’re not wanted, such as in the attic or basement of some homes. The Allegheny woodrat, however, is different because it is no common rodent, it is a member of the pack-rat family and is particularly cute in its appearance, it is also heavily endangered in Indiana and in significant decline throughout the United States.
